男女竞赛

It works best with pronunciation, spelling and things like numbers and dates. It's real simple. You have 2 teams, a boys team and a girls team. Then have 1 of each come up to the board and a word. Whoever is fastest and correct gets a point. Pronunciation, whoever says it best gets a point. It's so simple. Works like a charm too. The next day the kids are asking for the spelling game. Lots of fun. Depending on the level, you see some really... interesting spelling too. Hope this helps, you can use it with just about anything. Please excuse the bad spelling

Candy Game

prepare: candies, pencilcase(candies in it), tape recorder,

music(the faster, the better)

1st, turn on the music. Students begin to pass the pencilcase to

tne next student (cadies in the pencilcase)

2nd, Teacher stops the music whenever s/he wants.

AT that moment, the student who has the pencilcase stands up.

3rd, the student answers the question the teacher asks.

( of course, the student will have one candy!!)

---the game continues.

^^ Students love this game.. ( my experience)

This game is especially useful at the end of a lesson( when you want

to check if your students have learned well. )

Mystery Box

This "game" is lots of fun. it could be used with beginners and intermediate-level students. Take a medium-sized box, preferable one that has a top. Cut a hole in the top and replace it on the box. Then take an object - something that they'd be at least somewhat familiar with - and place it in the box. I used things like scissors, a fork, a pair of earphones, and a spool of thread. Have a student come up to the front of the class and put their hand in the box. They have to describe the object to the class by TOUCH alone, while everyone else guesses what it is. It's good for building vocabulary and also listening skills. My class had so much fun doing this! Hope yours likes it, too

crazy word chains

It's a good warm-up for between 5 and 10 minutes.

The students sit in a circle and begin to clap a slow rhythm. One begins by saying any English word (with the rhythm). The student to his/her left must then say a word that begins with the last letter of the previous word. The next student follows suit and it might go something like this:

...

The game starts over when one student misses his/her turn. Of course, it's all in fun. The kids like to see how long they can go before the "chain" gets broken and will often speed up the pace as they go along. It can get a little crazy as they try to sort through all of the words that they know and sometimes, in desperation, come up with a few new ones! :)

Famous Person Name Game

For this game you will need names of many famous people who your students are likely to have heard of, and a one-minute timer. Write each name on a slip of paper and place it in a hat or a big envelope. Each student works with a partner. One person gives clues to the other person about the famous person, and the other person guesses. (The rest of the students look on). The goal is to get the most names guessed correctly in one minute
